Get the Look for Less: Balmain Blazer Dupe

Hi everyone,

I can’t believe December is already here! In the months leading up to snowfall, jackets, cardigans, and coats are always a staple in my wardrobe. Recently, I’ve been trying to leave my comfort zone of autumn cardigans and branch out into other styles. One piece I notice season after season is the ever famous, ever classic Balmain blazer. Being a student, I was hesitant to venture into workwear pieces as my day to day style for going to class is relatively casual. However, I decided to give blazers a try since in today’s fashion they’re no longer only synonymous with office looks, but can be dressed down and integrated into more casual looks. I’ve seen Balmain blazers paired with dresses, a t-shirt and jeans, and even denim shorts for the warmer months.

The piece I picked is a designer dupe from Missguided. While one day I might invest in the real deal from Balmain, I still love my casual style and don’t think I’d get enough use out of the piece at this point in my life. For now, I’m super pleased with this version for under $80 to dress up my wardrobe. I created this look by pairing the Missguided blazer with a simple, white button-up from Express, Express jeans with panel detailing, suede booties from Kenneth Cole Reaction, and my Balenciaga City Bag with giant hardware. These jeans create a great balance by dressing down the look in blue denim, but still looking sharp with the faux leather paneling. Since the gold buttons of the blazer really stand out, they play along perfectly with the accentuated gold hardware on the Balenciaga City. On my lips I’m wearing Lip Velour from Winky Lux in the shade Soiree. I’ve mentioned before that I’m not the fondest of matte lipsticks, but this one might change my mind! It’s more sheer and much less drying than some of the other matte lipsticks I’ve tried from other brands while still having a great color payoff.

I can’t even remember how long I’ve had these jeans and unfortunately they’re no longer available at Express, so I’ve linked similar panel-detailed jeans below along with the other items from this look. Have a great rest of the week!

xoxo, Emm
