I hope you’re all having a great week so far! Today I wanted to share how I styled this faux fur jacket I picked up while in California. I tried it on in Brandy Melville and loved it, but decided to stop for lunch and think on it. It was a sad day for my wallet, but a great day for my wardrobe because sure enough – I just had to run back to the store before heading home. The jacket costs $50 which isn’t exactly a steal, but the quality and versatility make it well worth the price. Faux fur can be tricky since texture really matters. If it’s too short and straggly it looks pretty obviously fake, but I also don’t like the shaggier extreme either. This faux fur is very soft and natural – it impressed my boyfriend’s Russian grandma, so I feel like it has to score bonus points. Despite it only coming in one size, I was happily surprised with the fit. I’m usually an XS or S in jackets and the website says this should fit S to M. It’s a nice oversized look for me, but I think there’s definitely room if you’re an M or L and don’t mind it fitting more snugly.
I decided on an all black look since, to me, fur just screams luxury and what’s more luxe than all black everything? I paired it with my lacy Shein camisole, black suede booties, and ripped jeans from Ralph Lauren. The jeans didn’t actually come ripped, but I took the liberty of adding rips after I made a knee hole falling off my longboard a couple years ago. Definitely more embarrassing than painful. I finished it off with a Chanel bag because, well, Chanel. Addressing the last picture … yes, I did get a baker boy hat because I’m a slave to fashion and had to try out the trend. And no, I’m still not sure if I can pull it off. I’m kind of (very much) leaning towards no, but maybe that’s because it’s just not my typical style. The good news is it was on sale from Forever 21 so when I look back on this picture in a couple years and cringe, at least I know I only blew $7 on it! This is just one way of styling the jacket – the bomber cut pairs well with lots of different outfits. When I tried this on in store I was wearing a simple grey tshirt dress and actually really liked the look. If you end up putting in the $50 to get this piece I think you’ll get your money’s worth since faux fur isn’t going anywhere when it comes to fall/winter wear.
That’s it from me for this week! As always, I’ve linked the pieces from this outfit down below along with some other similar versions.
P.S. I’ve talked about Ebates in other posts, but thought I’d mention it again since you can get cash back from a lot of the sites I’ve linked below! Click here to sign up or click the Ebates icon on the right sidebar.
